Greetings from Canada!!

Hope everyone is having a GREAT hoops year!! I just wanted to post a message saying that we (the University of Regina) are look for another post player or two (HS, JC, even older players who have played three years or less of college ball) who would be interested in going to school and playing for us in the Great White North.

Tai Tuisamoa from San Diego and Will Porter from Memphis are currently with us and playing well.

We are a mid sized school (11,000 students) going through 500 million dollar campus wide upgrade/development. The largest per capita venture ever at a Canadian university. Included in this is a new state of the art 2500 seat facility opening in 2004.

We play in the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) in the Canada West Conference made up of teams from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, ALberta and BC. We usually make a couple of trips a year into the norther US to play NCAA and NAIA teams as well. This year we played several NAIA teams in Montana and North Dakota. We have played NCAA Div I and II teams in the past.

We finished the year 18-9 and just missed going to our Final Eight. The hoops is the equivalent of NCAA Div II. Our big problem was rebounding, hence the need for post help.

We can offer scholarships that will cover tuition and fees. There are alsomplenty of on campus part time jobs and academic scholarships available. This combined with a dirt cheap Canadian Dollar (3 US to 2 CAN) means a student can attent school for at most $3500 US (that would easily cover room and board).

We take pride in that we have a 75% graduation rate and are looking for good student athletes. If anyone is interested, please get a hold of me at the e-mail address mentioned or contact our head coach James Hillis directly at 306.585.4069 or hillisj@uregina.ca. James was an assistant on our National Tram 1999-2000.

Anyway, Take Care!!
