Chaffey stormed out of the gates in the second half. The Panthers opened a 30 point lead 85- 55 with 10:30 to play. The Chaffey Hustlin Panthers got out hustled by the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles. The Panthers led the entire first half and went into the locker room with 44 41 lead. Chaffey held a 2 6 point lead until the Eagles took control at the 12:00 minute mark. Mt San Jacinto took the lead 56 55 then went on a 10 2 run to go up 66 57. Chaffey managed to cut the lead to five points with 5:30 to play but could get no closer.

Deonte Huff and Jovan McIver both scored 20 points as the Marauders (12-14, 5-4) took a 42-18 first half lead and cruised from there.

AVC shot 52 percent from the line, while limiting the Roadrunners (7-18, 2-7) to shooting just 27 percent.

Still, Rio Hondo nearly had two players with 20 -- Jabir Jinna scored 21 and Vernon Covington added 19.

The Marauders (10-14, 3-4) cruised to a 13 point half time lead, then watched the Vikings (5-16, 1-6) get to within one with less than a minute left, but in the end AVC snapped their four game Foothill Conference losing streak.

Deonte Huff scored 22 points for the Marauders, marking the first time since he broke his wrist in late December that he scored 20 or better.
